I did it! I finished my first 20K. The race was 7:30am at the Dallas Arboretum and I couldn't' have asked for nicer weather. The first leg of the race was around White Rock Lake which was really pretty, but due to construction, the second leg was through neighborhoods. This wouldn't have been so bad, but the streets were sooooooooooooo hilly! It's just not fair to make someone run up a hill at mile 9! My goal was to finish without stopping and I did it! (except for one small potty break). The pain was pretty intense yesterday and into last night, but bearable. It probably didn't help that we went to the Plano balloon festival and had to walk 20 miles from where we parked. Okay, I am exaggerating, but the blister on my foot was screaming at my the whole time!
All in all, the race was a blast and I look forward to doing it again very soon.
